This website is dedicated to Pixie. It is also dedicated to older dobes in need of a home and the people who adopt them.
Pixie needed a new home at the age of 8. She was old and all natural. In other words she had uncropped ears and an undocked tail. No one wanted her. My husband and I agreed to take her for a trial weekend.
She came to us with a blanket, collar and traffic leash. The first day she was truly horrible. I dont know what I saw in her that made me keep her. We took her shopping on Sunday, buying toys, a bowl, collars, leashes, treats and so on. On Monday I enrolled her in a beginners obedience class.
Pixie loved training (and the obedience ring). She got her AKC CD in April of 1995 and her UCD and UCDX later that same year. In 1998 she came out of retirement to complete her CDX. Her last trial was the 1998 Quaker City DPC Specialty where she took 1st place in Veterans with a respectable 181.5.
She was also my constant companion and best friend. I am grateful for the time I had with her. She was truly a wonderful girl.
